Beaverhill Lake is located northeast of Tofield and is a major attraction for visitors and residents of Tofield and surrounding Beaver County. Beaverhill Lake provides feeding and resting habitat for over 50,000 shorebirds each year.

• The Town of Tofield has all the utilities expected in a city:
  
                   treated water is piped directly from the City of Edmonton;
                   all roads are paved and well-maintained year-round;
                   the Parks and Recreation department staff maintain the many attractive local parks and several important  recreational facilities;
                   nearly all town locations have access to high-speed internet service (ADSL);
                   regular residential and business garbage pickup and street maintenance are of a high standard;
                   three Transfer Stations (Hours) are also open to the public for refuse drop-off;
                   an active and well-trained volunteer fire department serves both urban and rural areas;
                   the RCMP provide police services to the community.
                   The Tofield Health Centre provides a wide range of health services to area residents.
   

Entrepreneurs in Tofield find it a congenial place to do business. There is no business tax to be paid, and the market area is a large one.

Non-local businesses (retail only) are required to obtain a Peddlers' Licence from the Town Office. The price is $75 per day or $225 per year.
